Have you read a Shakespeare’s book?

Have you heard of Romeo and Julliet?,  I am sure that sounds familiar.

Verona is home to the famous love story of William Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet. It is also one of my favorite cities in Northern Italy. One day is not enough time to spend in this city to explore its historic center, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visit the famous Juliet's balcony, explore the interior of the Verona Arena and try the local food and wine.

Nevertheless, let me show you how you can explore this lovers and foodie gem in just a day.

This walking tour starts and ends from the Verona train station. This is in consideration that you have an onward journey but if that’s not the case, you can also adapt this itinerary to meet your needs.

You have a few hours of transit, no problem, this can also be done in a few hours.

Note for the onward traveler: There is a possibility to store your luggage for a couple of hours at the train station while you tour the city of Verona. For more information, please visit: https://www.amoitaly.com/deposit/verona.html

The total time of walking is estimated at 1-hour 30 mins  - 2 hours depending n your speed. Please include stops and breaks to visit the sites properly and take pictures.

If needed it takes about 10mins with the bus (numbers: 11, 12, 13, 14, 72 and 73) from the train station to the city center.

What to Eat in Verona

There is a reason why Verona is known as a foodie paradise. Italian food is very good and in Verona, the choices are endless.

I highly recommend trying the freshly home made pasta at La Bottega della Gina

And for desert you can try a Minuto di bauli in the flavour and filling of your choice. A bauli cost €2.50. Their shop have many locations in Verona. Please check the link to find the closest one to you while visiting Verona.   https://www.minutodibauli.it/en/home-2/

A day spent in any Italian city, is always a day well spent.
